FALL 2019 – WEEK 1 @ HOLY TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL
HAMPTON (27) v PRM ONLINE (22)
New ETFL Fall Season? No problem for Team Hampton who came out hot in this one. QB Stu McNeill was finding every open receiver – especially Darcy Lavoie, who led this game in scoring with 2 touchdowns on the day. McCartney Sealey made an impression in his ETFL debut with some big-time catches, including a jump ball in the end zone, while the Hampton defense held strong through 3 quarters. RPM Online mounted their own attack late and has too many playmakers to be held off the board for long, but this game was decided long before the 4th quarter. Hampton looks to keep it flowing next week vs Brent’s Plumbing.
HAMPTON – Darcy Lavoie (2 TD, 1 INT), McCartney Sealey (1 TD), Mike McNeill (1 TD), Stu McNeill (3 XP, 1 INT), Kevin McNeill (1 INT).
RPM ONLINE – Andrew Pingz (1 TD, 2 PAT), Adrian McIntosh (1 TD, 2 XP), Dominic Fata (1 TD).
DIRECT ELEVATOR (42) v MOODY CONSTRUCTION (30)
Despite an admirable performance from Paul Vanleyden filling in at QB, it was a tall task for Moody to overcome the onslaught from Direct Elevator. Although neither team lacked for scoring, QB Buzz Bezzant was the stand-out QB here, finding his favorite target Mike Devine for 3 touchdown receptions and a 2-XP. Keeping up the family affair the two Devine boys had an INT apiece, resulting in a confident start and 1-0 record for team Direct Elevator. Cole Lafoy had a stellar game with a pick 6 and a few TD’s but his performance wasn’t enough to lift his team past Direct. Moody will look ahead to a matchup with 0-1 RPM Online next week, hoping to build off a solid Week 1 effort.
DIRECT – Mike Devine (3 TD, 2 XP), Josh Devine (1 TD, 1 INT), Ryan Dale (2 TD, 2 XP), Mike Sperling (2 XP), Jake Devine (1 INT), John Brear (1 Sack).
MOODY – Cole Lafoy (3 TD, 2-XP, 1 INT), Karl Vanleyden (1 TD, 2-XP), Allister Gundy (2-XP).
BRENT’S PLUMBING v SCUGOG SPORTSWARE
‘Handsome Rick’ is back in action and looking good in Week 1. Brent’s were in pretty good shape from the start here against a Scugog Sportsware squad dealing with some early season (late summer) injuries and attendance woes. Drew Pottle led the way in scoring with 2 TD’s while Michael Smith shored up the defensive side with 2 INT’s, leading to the inevitable victory with Drew taking the last QB snaps. Still, is was a solid effort from Scugog who battled hard, with ETFL rookie Brandon Wood getting them on the board with a nice reception in the endzone. Scugog looks ahead to a Week 2 matchup vs Moody in hopes of leaving this one behind them…
BRENT’S – Drew Pottle (2 TD, 2 PAT), Michael Smith (1 TD, 2 INT), Miguel Morris (1 TD), Jason Carter (2 XP).
SCUGOG – Brandon Wood (1 TD).
